The photo above showing a surreal sunset near Alexandria, Egypt was taken on November 27, 2007. Magnificent swirls of mid- and high-level clouds toward the end of the day gave promise that a memorable twilight might be in the offing. I wasn’t disappointed as the evening sky was soon set aglow. While taking this picture, a huge flock of migratory birds flew in from the southwest -- visible on the image as a dark wavy line, left of center (click on image to enlarge).
