On my way home after a busy workday here in Montreal, Quebec, and cut off from the outside world all day, I suddenly realized that the weather had become quite unsettled. An immense cumulonimbus cloud, illuminated by the lingering rays of the setting Sun, engulfed the western quadrant of the sky. I decided to go to Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal to get a better look. During its descent, the Sun was quickly obscured by the imposing cloud mass. Shortly thereafter the sky exploded in shades of lavender and purple. Wind and rain soon followed scattering the tourists visiting Mount Royal. For those that stayed their patience was rewarded with a terrific twilight sky. Photo taken on June 28, 2010.
