Pictured above is an anticline-syncline sequence exposed at a roadcut along Route 322 in Pennsylvania approximately 39 miles south of State College and approximately two miles northwest of Arch Rock Road. The exposure overlooks the Juniata River near the village of Macedonia. The exposure is located on the northbound lane where parking is forbidden, however, it is unrestricted on the southbound lane. The sequence is composed of Lower Silurian sandstones and the darker beds contain numerous trace fossils. Hand samples are readily available on the southbound side. Photo taken February 2012.
