The Eastern Trail is a greenway for cyclists, hikers, walkers and birders, stretching 65 mi (105 km) from the Piscataqua River in Kittery, Maine to South Portland and the Gulf of Maine. The marsh, a Gulf of Maine coastal wetlands area, is the largest salt marsh in the state and an important habitat for many native birds and fish as well as a stopover for migratory birds.
