A portion of the Venice Lagoon and the city of Burano, Italy is visible in the photo above, taken from the top of the bell-tower of St. Maria Assunta Cathedral on Torcello island. The city of Burano is known for its brightly painted houses and Oblique Bell Tower. Burano island lies about 4 mi (7 km) from Venice.
