The aerial photo above was taken over Svalbard, Norway, on my way to observe the total solar eclipse of March 20, 2015. This view shows North Isfjorden National Park in Svalbard -- an archipelago off the northern coast of Norway. Isfjorden, found on the western side of the island of Spitsbergen, is the second longest and perhaps the most impressive fjord in Svalbard. Sea ice is visible here in the foreground while in the mid-ground glacier ice (bright white) empties into the fjord. Glaciers cover approximately 60 percent of Svalbard. Photo taken on March 19, 2015.
