Pictured above is a sandstone and conglomerate outcrop found along the northern bank of the Tembeling River in Taman Negara National Park, Malaysia. This and other such Jurassic-aged continental deposits in the Tembeling area overlay Late Paleozoic sediments. The Tembeling River is a tributary of the Pahang River, the longest river course of the Malay Peninsula -- the Pahang eventually empties into the South China Sea. Photo taken on May 1, 2009.
