The towering cumulus congestus and cumulonimbus clouds shown above were observed at sunset somewhere over south-central Mississippi on May 2, 2010. I was on an a flight from Dallas, Texas to Jacksonville, Florida, at an elevation of about 30,000 ft (9,144 m), when these rapidly building clouds came into view as we passed above an area of unstable air. Note their reflection on the port-side wing.
