The photo above shows the Agrio River in Patagonia (Argentina) lined with rocks and boulders imbued with yellowish colors. It was taken during an excursion through the northwest region of the Province of Neuquén. The striking colors result from mineralized sulfur and iron compounds in the river's water, the source of which is the nearby Copahue Volcano. Photo taken on March 13, 2017.
