While exploring off the well-trodden trails in the Valley of Fire, in Nevada, I stumbled upon this amazing view. The Valley of Fire is rich in exposed minerals and is known for its eye-catching colors and rainbow-like vistas. The Aztec Sandstone found here is composed of nearly pure silica which, because of the presence of iron and other minerals, is often stained in shades of red and orange. Complex uplifting, folding and faulting, have created the current landscape. Photo taken on December 25, 2017.
