This hidden paradise found in west-central Guatemala is known as Catarata Santa Avelina. It's about a ten-minute walk from the nearest village to this picturesque waterfall, near the source of the Santa Avelina River, a tributary of the Chixoy River. Flowing over exposed sedimentary rock, the fall's total height is approximately 325 ft (100 m). Photo taken as the Sun was rising behind the ridge in the background on the morning of March 10, 2018.
