The photo above shows the first sunrise of the summer season at the Argentine research base of Marambio, on the Antarctic Peninsula in Antarctica. After weeks of the Sun being absent from the Antarctic sky, it finally breached the northern horizon in early November. In the distance is the still frozen Weddell Sea. Photo taken on November 10, 2017.
