Shown above is Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. Fire Wave, featured at bottom, and other exposed rock formations found here consists primarily of sedimentary rocks dating from the Jurassic Period. Crustal deformation of ancient dunes created this intriguing landscape. You need only take a short hike from the parking area to reach Fire Wave. Photos taken on May 20, 2019.
