Clouds Rest is one of the many prominences in Yosemite National Park, California. This thin ridge of rock, primarily comprised of granite, was shaped by glacier activity. In early September, I had the pleasure of hiking from Cathedral Lakes trailhead in Tuolumne Meadows to Sunrise Lakes to Clouds Rest. The view from atop Clouds Rest was phenomenal. From one side you can see Tenaya Lake (top photo) way in the distance, and from the other, the view of Half Dome and Yosemite Valley is breathtaking (bottom photo). Photo taken on September 3, 2019.
