This intriguing stone house in the Fafe region of northern Portugal has a prehistoric-look and resembles the Flintstone's cartoon house. In fact, this house was built in 1972 between four huge limestone boulders. The locals refer to it as the Casa do Penedo -- penedo means big rock in Portuguese. According to the owner the house has no electrical power and the only part of the exterior not made of stone are the door frame and windows. The furniture is made of tree trunks. The sofa, for example, is made of a large eucalyptus trunk that weighs approximately 770 lbs (350 kg). Photo taken on October 22, 2011.
