I observed this magnificent rainbow in front of Euboean Olympus, on Evia Island, Greece, just before sunset on February 21, 2020. The way the bow appeared to touch the trees on the hillside in the foreground immediately caught my attention, so I decided to take a closeup image. The most vivid rainbow colors result when sunlight is reflected and refracted through larger raindrops – drops about 0.2 inches (5 mm) or larger in diameter. Surely, there must be a pot of gold at the end of this fetching bow.
