EdmaiersWavyNavajpSandstoneMedResLacy sandstone formations in Navajo sandstone, such as the ones shown in the above photos, are abundant in an area known as Edmaier's Secret, near the head of Buckskin Gulch in Vermilion Cliffs National Monument (Utah). Such eye-catching rocks may form when shear zones are found in sandstone and these zones in turn are in close proximity to fault zones. Photos taken on May 8, 2020.
