The above picture was taken this past March [2003] at More Mesa near Santa Barbara, California and shows an asphaltum seep slowly flowing out of the sea bluff. The appearance of the flow can change dramatically from month to month, and on this day made a nice haul-out spot for a juvenile California Sea Lion (Zalophus californianus).
