Summary Author: Roberto Porto
Shown above is a spectacular, multilayered accessory cloud I observed at sunset over the Teide and Pico Viejo volcanoes, from Teide National Park (Canary Islands), Spain. Strong winds forced moisture-laden air up the slopes of the 12,198 ft (3,781 m) Teide volcano, resulting in these breathtaking lenticular clouds and cap clouds, known locally as sombrero del Teide. Photo taken on October 20, 2020.
