Stone Donkey Arch is a feature in the Navajo sandstone of south-central Utah that looks like a donkey. Others have thought that the shape is more like a wolf, so it's also known as Howling Wolf Arch. This type of arch is called an abandoned arch; such arches (and this type includes the world-famous Delicate Arch) are considered to be near the end of their life, but they survive due to compression, which strengthens the cement-like bonds in the sandstone. The Stone Donkey is rather top-heavy, which could have an impact on its lifespan. Photo taken October 24, 2020.
