Featured above is a lovely moment capturing the rose-colored belt of Venus, the deep blue of the setting Earth’s shadow and the snowclad Pic de Rochebrune (10,890 ft or 3,320 m) in the Cottian Alps of France. The western sky as viewed from the Saint-Véran Observatory was simply stunning on this winter’s morning (January 11, 2021).
