North American monsoon season blows in some really neat weather formations.  In this photo you can see the rain in the hills outside of Pahrump, Nevada before it makes its way down into the lowlands. The past spring has brought scarce rain to much of the American Southwest, which has led to extreme drought conditions throughout Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, and New Mexico. This exceptional drought has been largely due to La NiƱa conditions and a weak summer monsoon season. Image taken on July 30, 2021.
