The photo above features a shadow of Monviso projected on the clouds around sunset. Monoviso is located in the Alps on the Italian-French border and is widely-known for its characteristic pyramid shape. At 12,600 ft (3,841 m) tall, the mountain is the tallest in the Cottian Alps.  Due to Sun angle and the perspective of the viewer, mountain shadows appear triangular regardless of the actual shape of the mountaintop.
