This photo highlights a rare calm night on the shore of Laguna Torre in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentinian Patagonia. A majestic Milky Way forms a natural crown on the summit of Cerro Torre in addition to the ice covered Cordon Adela on the left and numerous other surrounding ridges. We arrived in El Chaltén in the southern Argentinian Patagonia after almost 30 hours of travelling. We were tired, but happy and full of positive energy. Promising clear skies and calm wind forced us to try to be lucky. After just a very few hours of sleep and in the middle of the night through subzero temperatures, we started our way toward the lagoon. After about two and a half hour we reached the lagoon, always with a majestic Milky Way above us.
