Shown above is the occultation of Mars by the Moon that I captured from my home in Kosice, Slovakia on the morning of December 8, 2022. My camera was set to a focal length of 1.400 mm. Notice that the Red Planet appears redder and the Moon more orange on the right side of this multisequence image since both were nearing the horizon, where increasing path-length acts to extinguish the shorter wavelength colors in the visible spectrum (green, blue, violet).
