Observing the flight of these birds (sparrows and swallows), I wanted to better understand their trajectories and the positions of their wings according to the phases of flight. So, I made a stack of nearly 3000 images (using minimal pixels) in order to keep track of each individual bird.

It seems that there’s a lot of activity late each day when swallows are feeding on insects. This is the motion I was observing here and is what the individual curves represent. Note that in the immediate vicinity of our family house (not seen on photo) in southeastern France, I counted 6 swallows' nests, and birds were busily constructing others. Photo captured on April 22, 2023.

Photo details: photo was taken from a video made in 4K mode with a GoPro BlackHero9 at 30fps.
