Summary Author: Juan Campos Nazer
Shown above is an ananuca flower blooming in the world’s driest desert, the Atacama of western Chile. Perhaps only every 5-7 years will a given region of the Atacama receive the scant rainfall required for wildflowers to spring forth from the desert floor in colors primarily of yellow, pink, and purple. Compare this blossom with a nighttime blossom of a flower taken from a different part of the Atacama. Photo taken on June 8, 2022.
