This past March on my annual aurora expedition to Alaska we were fortunate enough to observe some of the most breathtakingly beautiful displays I’ve ever seen. The wide, colorful curtain aurora featured here was taken on March 23, 2023, around midnight. We were just north of Fairbanks, Alaska. The constellation Cygnus the Swan or Northern Cross is to the lower left of the curtain Note the thin clouds floating through, as well as some of my crew shooting further down the road.
