Featured above is the solar disk with sunspot groups AR3293/4 and AR3296/7 visible along the Sun’s upper rim. This photo was taken as the Sun was setting behind Terrace Hill in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 3, 2023. Sunspot AR3293 was harboring sufficient energy to create M class solar flares. Always use caution when looking at the Sun.
