The photo above shows a colorful bubble taken at a park near my home in Zeccone (Pavia) Italy, where my daughter and I were playing and observing the nature of soap bubbles. It's about 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter and lasted about 15-seconds before collapsing, allowing us to make several attempts to photograph it.
The very thin and transparent surface film of the bubble acts to diffract sunlight resulting in the lovely iridescent coloration. But we were astonished when we noticed that the panoramic skyline of the park appeared impressed on the bubble's surface. Also, as sunset was in progress, it's portrayed on the far-right side of the bubble. Photo taken on February 21, 2024.
