My husband and I were thrilled to be able to observe the entirety of the Total Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2024, from the western Ohio the town of Wapakoneta, where Neil Armstrong was born and raised. The stages just before totality and totality are shown above. Not only was the eclipse phenomenon itself all we hoped for, but the atmosphere of anticipation among the throngs of spectators was exciting as well -- plus, everyone was really nice and friendly, making for a wonderful time. We missed seeing the Total Solar Eclipse of August 2017, also visible over a narrow swath of the central U.S., and so were very glad to experience this one.
