Summary Author: Marco Meniero
Show above is the conjunction of Jupiter and Mars as viewed from Poggio Pinzuti in the Tuscan Valley of Italy (top) and from next to the Tower of Pisa (bottom). I’m an admirer of the Pisan astronomer Galileo Galilei, and therefore imagined how he perhaps would have observed this lovely planetary conjunction. Photos taken in the early morning hours of August 14, 2014, around 0230 a.m. local time.
